Hugo Chittenden volunteers, fundraises and rebuilds a medical clinic and community centre in Kibera slum, Nairobi for the charity Nyumbani which cares for orphans affected or infected with HIV.
The trip begins in January 2009 with Hugo volunteering at the orphanage and in the slums of Nairobi, teaching, distributing food, attending family visits and supporting local staff.
His volunteering effort focuses on the charity's slum program called Lea Toto which targets the most vulnerable children.
On his return to the UK, Hugo organizes an exhibition of his photos in April in a bid to raise funds for the charity's slum program and the renovation of its medical clinic and community centre in Kibera now the largest slum in Africa.
The exhibition is a huge success and raises £7000 and Hugo returns to Nairobi in August to manage the renovation project.
In a period of 7 days Hugo successfully manages to renovate and transform the medical clinic and community centre in Kibera with Chloe Hill alongside to support and help him.
